KIDS AND FAMILIES

Our Heart For Children

At the chapel, we believe that kids are not just the future of the church, but that they are an essential part of the church now.

Our prayer is that kids would encounter the reality of who God is through the local church and that their lives would be radically transformed by the love of God in this place.

Our goal is to teach and instruct kids about God and His word, while trusting that the Holy Spirit will plant seeds of faith deep into their hearts.  We desire to see kids become life-long, resilient disciples of Christ.

EVENTS FOR KIDS

wolc-84

Awana

Wednesday nights (beginning September 14th) from 6:30-8:00 for kids 3 years old (2 years from Kindergarten and potty trained) through 5th grade.

The purpose of Awana is to reach kids and families with the good news of Jesus and to engage kids in the lifelong process of following Jesus.  Every Wednesday night consists of three elements- large group instruction, small group gatherings (and snacks- of course!) and games.

Sunday School

Our kids meet in small groups every Sunday morning from 9:15-10:00 to dive deep into God’s word.  We currently have classes for toddlers, preschoolers/kindergartners, 1st/2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade.

SUNDAY GATHERING

Our main gathering for worship begins at 10:15 am.  Kids join us for worship through music, as we believe it’s so important for the church to gather multi-generationally (K-5th). As the sermon begins, kids (K-5th) are dismissed to learn about God and His word from caring adults each week.  We use Brite* curriculum for this time and always provide ways for parents to continue spiritual discussions at home as they leave each Sunday.

WE BELIEVE IN FAMILY

We believe that parents possess the potential to have the greatest spiritual influence on their child’s life.  We also know that parenting was never meant to be done alone. Therefore, it is our desire to partner with parents in order to help equip them with resources and tools that help in the process of discipling their kids.

We hold the family in high esteem at the chapel and it is our hope that entire families would love Jesus and seek His kingdom first above all else.

Every month, our Be Family group meets together to hang out, eat a meal, play games and focus on a topic related to parenting.  For many of our families, it’s one of the things they look forward to all month long, as they get to meet up for encouragement and fellowship with other parents!
