Good afternoon Church family,
As I was enjoying some silence this week, a thought came to me that I would like to share with you:
Becoming a Christian should radically transform the meaning of silence to you. Instead of being totally alone or spending time by yourself, you now enter into intimacy with the Lord when you are alone in silence at home, in the car or wherever it is. Of course you are not truly alone. As children of God, we are way too needy, dependent, and immature for God our Father to leave us alone, and so He doesn’t (but look at what happens if He does, 2 Chron. 32:31). He is always here with us, ministering through the Holy Spirit and leading us with Christ’s love. We are never alone and will never go through anything alone.
In John 14:16-18 Jesus says just that to His disciples in preparation for His departure:
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth…I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”
As we focus on the risen Christ this week, may you be aware of not only the fact that He is alive and reigning, but also that He is with you & experiencing everything with you.
Love in Christ,
Aaron
