Good morning Church family,
I want to remind you today what God shows us in Genesis 1-3. Even in the midst of a badly broken world with sin and pain, God remains good. That’s the message of Genesis 1-3. God is the good Creator Who made everything good, and even when it all turns bad as a result of sin and rebellion, God remains good and near. He doesn’t go anywhere in Genesis 3. His goodness pursues Adam & Eve despite their bad choices.
What a refreshing truth to realize that God is this unchanging Goodness in our life, even as the world changes for the worst. Even if we change for the worst, God remains just as good.
Sneak peek into this Sunday…we’ll see even more of God’s generous goodness on Sunday in Genesis 4 as the first murderer, Cain, receives a gracious provision from God after he sins. God punishes him but then protects him with a mark to prevent revenge upon him.
Again, we see, even for the most vile sinner, God is gracious (it’s called common grace, Matthew 5:45).
May you see and experience God’s grace and goodness in your life despite whatever sins and struggles and sadness you face. “God is near to the broken hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
God remains near to us, WOL Chapel, and meets us in our pain and brokenness. And we know this most of all through the Cross. God has not meted out any pain for our sin that He Himself has not experienced Himself. The chief example of this is Jesus becoming our curse of sin for us on the Cross. He is an empathetic and near Savior Who has not put us through anything that He Himself did not bear too.
So lean into Jesus, today, and remember that He remains good and near to you, even when the world or your life turns bad.
With love in Christ,
Aaron
